Nurse Aide Arrested For Assault
A Bronx man, Nanic Aidasani, was arrested Tuesday for the alleged rape of a nursing home resident with dementia. The incident took place at Manhattanville Health Care Center in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx.
Another employer at the center found Aidasani on top of the woman around 1 a.m. Tuesday, ModVive.com reports. A supervisor at the center notified the children of the alleged victim around 4 a.m. Son and daughter, Alejandro and Loida, said they were shocked to learn of the attack. “She was at the nursing home because my brother and I thought it was a safe haven for her, a safe place for her, that she would be protected, but she wasn’t protected, she was assaulted,” Loida said. Her son added, “We’re still in shock right now, trying to deal with this situation.”
Manhattanville Health Care Center administrator Uri Schwartz said in a statement that the center “contacted the police department and the Department of Health to report an alleged sexual abuse complaint. Our residents are our number one priority and we will continue to assist authorities in their ongoing investigation,” according to ModVive.
